Is this what one might term ... a dialogue ... between the US and our adversaries?

20 June 2009 : LAHORE: US President Barack Obama has told a private Pakistani TV channel in an interview that his administration does not intend to send American troops into Pakistan, the Indian media reported on Saturday. Obama said any American military aid to Pakistan needed to be used against extremism. “We have in the past supported Pakistan militarily. I think it is important to make sure that military support is directed at extremists and our common enemies,” the US president said. Obama underlined the need to help Pakistan strengthen its resources to facilitate development, and stressed the importance of turning the bilateral ties beyond just military-to-military cooperation into “something richer”. He said he was confident Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were safe and secure. 21 June 2009 : 10 months ago, the Pakistani government touted the death of top al-Qaeda figure Mustafa Abu al-Yazid in the Bajaur Agency. Munger Money Grenade in mid-explosion

Mike Munger reports that the first day of the Money Grenade has garnered 150 donations and topped $5,000! For a Libertarian gubernatorial candidate (who is now polling 5%) this is outstanding--possibly unprecedented. As he says, if you are so nerdy that you are reading this on the 4th of July, hit the link and make a donation today. (I did.) And remember all those other deserving Libertarian candidates.

Tick, tick, tick... July 4 is getting closer! Forty dollars anyone?

I stole this great graphic from Jason Gatties' web page , where they are really in the spirit. (They will be less in the spirit if I only succeed in raising them my ten bucks.) Speaking of that, I put the checks in the mail today for my four candidates (I don't do the credit card thing for donations). Have you? If you go visit Last Free Voice and check out the post and comments for Who are all the LP Candidates? you will find what is probably the largest comprehensive list (with significant though incomplete contact data) for Libertarian candidates around the country. I bet you can find somebody you'd be willing to support with at least ten bucks. My four: Munger, Buckley, Boman, Gatties (and if I can scare up one more ten-spot--maybe next week--Tom Knapp). C'mon, as G. E. Smith said somewhere (I think it was on Scotty Boman's site), we don't need a Money Bomb ; most of our candidates would be thrilled with a Money Fart . You know what I'm really asking?...
