Donviti out?

jason wrote a post on Delawareliberal during the last hour: Donviti has been let go, which I cannot link to, because someone else over there deleted it within minutes.

However, before that happened, Delawaredem announced that he was quitting in protest, and the responses from liberalgeek, pandora, and Unstable Isotope made it clear that they had neither been a party to, nor pre-advised of this decision.

In another thread, jason said that somebody had deleted his post, but that Donviti was "still let go."

This appears to be the case: if you click on Contributors, DV's name still shows up, but it returns no authored posts--just a 404 error code. His most recent post has now been given the byline "by admin" rather than "by Donviti." jason now says that was "a computer thing," and not an intentional slight.

But jason says that he and DV had differences about DL's future direction--a statement that pretty much tells us ... nothing.

Here's the deal: jason owns Delawareliberal and can do what he damn well pleases with it.

Not, however, a good day for the Delaware blogosphere.

Steve, I agree. Although at times he could be a bit of an a#$, just as many times he could be insightful and spot on.
Curious as to why there hasn't been more of an announcement by Jason, but as you pointed out, he does own DELiberal

The Google post has already disappeared; I think it was deleted before Google could cache it.

Meanwhile, it is getting worse over there: jason and nemski are now going at each other on another thread.

FYI: My "show more" Google link shows everything needed of the post but one comment. It's just not direct to the DL site.

Mark: How'd you get the cache link?

Eh, Donviti was a jackass so good riddance. I'm all for both sides but that guy involved peoples families and stuff, not good. He hid behind the alias and made sick remarks. I personally think this is an excellent day for the Delaware blogosphere as it clears the air. Especially if Delaware Liberal drops some of their other nasty and disgusting posters and shows some civility.

One down, lots more to go!
Macho,
Let's be clear: as much as I have gone at it with dv and DD over the past two years, I have very little use for you or your little "outing" expose.

It's not like you actually did anything but collect the names to go with the pseudonyms that were already available in the blogosphere and pump it up as some sort of triumph of investigative reporting.

When you actually have something of substance that you're willing to say with your own name--or even a consistent pseudonym--try playing again.

Steve...that's the entire beauty of it. It WASN'T anything special. It was easily accessible--no triumph of any sort. And yet, they let it get to them. The triumph was not in the unmasking...the triumph was in the tizzy. They sat defending anonymity when there wasn't even any anonymity!

Seriously...how hard would it have been to post work and home phone numbers once a list of names was up? I could have done so much more to trash them the way they trash others. All I did was repackage easy info they themselves had put into the public domain...I didn't cross any line because there was no line at this junction.

I watched them scream and moan over nothing. Ooooh, it was sweet and sour at the same time. And a belly full of laughs too.

Well, that's a shame. It's almost always a pity when people get angry and sever relationships.

I know, I know. I've engaged in my share of wars. But more and more I'm learning that about many issues it's more important to remain related than to appear rhetorically to be right.

Dave Burris: "Too many anonymous bloggers think [there is an] unwritten code that says no matter how bad or personal they get, it’s somehow wrong to reveal a blogger’s identity. Well, folks, I’ve been around here a lot longer than most of you, and there is no such code."

ugh, I thought there were signs of stress when LG and Jason got to host the WDEL spot and DV wasn't invited. Who knows what caused it. They have lost one of their most interesting and original talents in losing him.

Is DD out too? His posts still retain him name and not admin as are DV's contributions.

The blog post below was also deleted today at Delaware Liberal. And, a sentence of mine, about that deletion, was deleted from a comment I made (I asked about the rules for that censureship but they deleted that too). But I doubt it is related to DV's leaving:

Celia Cohen Unmasks the Hustler Who Would Be Auditor

Simply great reporting from June of 2006. Start by reading the whole bleeping thing. Work this good should be read in its entirety. Celia demonstrates, that Korn is a Serial Filer of Lawsuits, not just against the (alleged) bad guys, but against anybody who crosses him: There were the legal wranglings in New

Difference is, I did it with my name attached. And I didn't go after people like LG who don't deserve it.

A Libertarian Martin Luther King Jr. Day post

In which we travel into interesting waters . . . (for a fairly long trip, so be prepared) Dr. King's 1968 book, Where do we go from here:  chaos or community? , is profound in that it criticizes anti-poverty programs for their piecemeal approach, as John Schlosberg of the Center for a Stateless Society  [C4SS] observes: King noted that the antipoverty programs of the time “proceeded from a premise that poverty is a consequence of multiple evils,” with separate programs each dedicated to individual issues such as education and housing. Though in his view “none of these remedies in itself is unsound,” they “all have a fatal disadvantage” of being “piecemeal,” with their implementation having “fluctuated at the whims of legislative bodies” or been “entangled in bureaucratic stalling.”   The result is that “fragmentary and spasmodic reforms have failed to reach down to the profoundest needs of the poor.” Such single-issue approaches also have “another common failing — ...

More of This, Please

Or perhaps I should say, "Less of this one, please." Or how about just, "None of them. Ever again. Please....For the Love of God." Sunshine State Poll: Grayson In Trouble The latest Sunshine State/VSS poll shows controversial Democratic incumbent Alan Grayson trailing former state Senator Dan Webster by seven points, 43 percent to 36 percent. A majority of respondents -- 51 percent -- disapprove of the job that Grayson is doing. Independents have an unfavorable view of him as well, by a 36/47 margin. Grayson has ignored the conventional wisdom that a freshman should be a quiet member who carefully tends to the home fires. The latest controversy involves his " Taliban Dan " advertisement, where he explicitly compares his opponent to the Taliban, and shows a clip of Webster paraphrasing Ephesians 5:22 -- "wives, submit to your husbands." An unedited version of the clip shows that Webster was actually suggesting that husba...

A reply to Salon's R. J. Eskrow, and his 11 stupid questions about Libertarians

Posts here have been in short supply as I have been living life and trying to get a campaign off the ground. But "11 questions to see if Libertarians are hypocrites" by R. J. Eskrow, picked up at Salon , was just so freaking lame that I spent half an hour answering them. In the end (but I'll leave it to your judgment), it is not that Libertarians or Libertarian theory looks hypocritical, but that the best that can be said for Mr. Eskrow is that he doesn't have the faintest clue what he's talking about. That's ok, because even ill-informed attacks by people like this make an important point:  Libertarian ideas (as opposed to Conservative ideas, which are completely different) are making a comeback as the dynamic counterpoint to "politics as usual," and so every hack you can imagine must be dragged out to refute them. Ergo:  Mr. Eskrow's 11 questions, with answers: 1.       Are unions, political parties, elections, and ...
