A "very high plain of generality and abstraction" pretty much sums up most of the politicians we are dealing with, not just Obama.
Nader's thoughts on self-censorship are interesting...when you become too careful in the interest of political expediency, you become something other than yourself. And the self then gets lost, until no one has a clue what anyone really means.
