Solitary blogging leaves one vulnerable to lapses in inspiration, getting caught in ruts, and unconsciously bringing here the frame of mind you get into when things aren't going all that well in the rest of your life.

If it helps (keep in mind I've been blogging for almost 6 years now), I've learned that if inspiration is lacking (or you're in a "rut"), just don't write. It's better than putting up something half-assed/below par/whatever you wanna call it. And this goes double if things aren't going so well in other arenas ...
