When the New York Times picks up on Gary Johnson's impact on the election . . .

. . . you know that things are getting more serious.

I think you're assuming the NYT is some sort of disinterested party. That is a view I don't share. I think they're hoping to peel votes from Romney and help Obama win. Call me cynical.

If so, they are barking up the wrong tree. Johnson pulls about 50-50 from Obama and Romney, but more importantly gives many people who would never vote for either Omni or Robomba under any circumstances a reason to vote.

Duffy I don't make that assumption. I make the assumption that the Obama people are worried enough about how close the election is to be forcing this story into the MSM, just like the Romney people were so worried in PA that they sued the Libertarian Party.

I frankly don't care why. The statistics tell us that for every 100 additional people who hear about Gary Johnson we are picking up a couple of votes.

Regardless of how much of a whore the NYT has become, it will still be read by millions.
