. . . about fixing Social Security.
Truth-in-advertising: I'm one of the horrible people who thinks at least optional privatizing of Social Security (I'd be willing to sign a waiver that permits the government to allow me to starve to death in retirement if I could opt out of the program), but...
If you really want to fix Social Security, then all President Obama will somehow have to do is take advantage of the huge Democratic majorities his partisans expect him to win for them in November, and pass a bill requiring all senior Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branch officials (I'm thinking Congress, Cabinet Members, and Judges here, but go as far down the pecking order as you like) to forfeit their Federal Service Retirement Pensions in exchange for Social Security.
Of course all our public-service minded Senators and Representatives will vote for that, right?
{Advice for Barack's staff: might not want to have the boss bring this idea up until after he's locked up enough super delegate votes to win that nomination, hey?]
