About that Colin Powell endorsement...

... which a lot of Democrats saw as his expiation of his sins for supporting the Bush administration for so long ...

If I were Senator Barack Obama I'd have at least a little hesitation about trumpeting the endorsement of a man whose last public endorsement was....

... appearing as a character witness for Alaska Senator Ted Stevens at his corruption trial ....

Unfortunately, you are one of few Americans who connects the dots. The endorsement was a shot in the arm, for the senior voter, no matter which side he endorsed. It's that good ol' fashioned name recognition branding of a "real American", to populist voters.

I agree. I'm not sure it's an endorsement I'd relish.'

I have to tip my hat to you. You've moved on to get stuck about Powell as character witness at the Stevens trial. I'm still stuck on the picture of him in the UN giving transparently shitty evidence that Iraq had WMD.
