Huff Po: Democrats are going to lose the election

Well, maybe not the entire Huff Po, but at least Adam McKay thinks it's over:

Something is not right. We have a terrific candidate and a terrific VP candidate. We're coming off the worst eight years in our country's history. Six of those eight years the Congress, White House and even the Supreme Court were controlled by the Republicans and the last two years the R's have filibustered like tantrum throwing 4-year-olds, yet we're going to elect a Republican who voted with that leadership 90% of the time and a former sportscaster who wants to teach Adam and Eve as science? That's not odd as a difference of opinion, that's logically and mathematically queer.

The reasons?

Number one: the media lies--or, at least it fails to correct GOP lies.

Number two: the GOP plans to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands if not millions of voters through voter caging (sorry, Liz, they apparently aren't relying on Israeli intelligence agents to gimmick the voting machines).

It's always good to have your explanations prepared before the actual votiing starts.

I am so effing sick of Republicans and Democrats I can't even stand it. Never prouder to be an Independent.

But I don't want the country to be flushed down the toilet for reactionary reasons, or reasons of political protest...so -

The disturbing decline of the Delaware blogosphere: a very unfortunate Around the Horn (even if it's not Friday)

I've noticed a change in my own blog-checking habits over the past several weeks, and I don't know if it's just me or the reality of the last month of a divisive political campaign. I automatically used to check out Delawareliberal first and several times a day, because it was where I could find edgy, thought-provoking, and (dare I say it) funny banter going on. These days visit several other spots first, and my visits to DL are both shorter and less engaged. Why? Because the combination of invading neo-con commenters with the stridency of some of the major contributors has led to such pleasant exchanges as a post dedicated to labeling another blogger racist by donviti, whose own sense of provocative humor is generally so far out there that he makes John Belushi doing Samurai bartender on the SNL look positively pro-Asian. Or I can find Delawaredem and jason periodically spewing the idea that anybody who is not a liberal or progressive Democrat is somehow a non-American,...
